Update the registry
To be able to search this new extension, it has to be specified in the Macroscope registry section.
- Start the registry editor: Start/Run... and type in "regedit.exe".
- Locate and left click on the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DMR\Macroscope\4.7\Extensions. - In the right pane, look at the data of the string value "nbExt" and increment its number by 1.
- In the right pane, right-click to add a new String value and name it Ext2 or Ext3…, according to the nbExt data value.
- Set the data of this new string value to your new extension short name, ex: X02.
- In the left pane, right-click on Extensions and select New/Key. Enter the short name you specified at the previous step;
- In the right pane, create the 6 following string value and set their data according to your extension.
Note 1: The name specified in "En_Name" or "Fr_Name" will appear when using the "Select a domain" field of the "Advanced seach" option.
Note 2: The string "En_VP" and "Fr_VP" represents the path to access your extension from the Macroscope web site. In "/DMRRoot/EXT_X02_En", the part that shoud be updated by you is "EXT_X02_En".
Update the index
To launch the update of the Macroscope index database, you have to execute the file "index.bat" located in the database folder.
- Start the Windows Explorer.
- Locate the Macroscope database folder, usually "C:\Program Files\Macroscope\Databases".
- Double-click on the "Index.bat" file wich will start the indexation process (this process could take few minutes to execute).
- Click on "Ok" when completed.
You should now be able to search the new extension.
